It’s the heroics that keep us coming back!

The story of the underdog is always a great one for the dreamer, then there’s the resounding resilience and determination of a champion that sees him/her through, and of course there’s the epic battles of fierce rivals which get us on the edge of our seats as we watch in amazement.

The story of the underdog is always a great one for the dreamer, then there’s the resounding resilience and determination of a champion that sees him/her through, and of course there’s the epic battles of fierce rivals which get us on the edge of our seats as we watch in amazement.

With so many great championships and tour events over the years, we would like to know your favourites?

To get you thinking, here’s a few that come to mind:

A touch of class - Nick Faldo, 1990 Open Championship, St. Andrews
1977 Duel in the Sun, Turnberry - Watson V Nicholas
Total Destruction - Tiger Woods, 2000 U.S. Open at Pebble Beach
Paul Lawrie bags Claret Jug after Van de Velde’s meltdown

If it’s one thing that golf has taught us it’s that being gracious in victory goes a long way. Very rarely do you see a professional golfer storm off the green refusing to shake hands or causing trouble in the tunnel. Yes, it’s played under a different environment to other sports and in different conditions, however, the respect shown amongst professional players and fans alike is admirable.

For a few clips of some of golf’s most epic victories in modern times, you can take a look at the following link from the Bleacher Report.
