With schools up and running and junior golf tours back in action, Fore Management is delighted to be involved in the running and organization of these fantastic events. Golf is becoming an increasingly popular sport among school-age children. Many of the most respected international schools in Thailand recruit highly skilled golf instructors to develop programmes to cater for this extracurricular demand from typically affluent families.

Being able to offer junior golfers with the chance to take part in some of Asia’s most prestigious junior competitions is a true honour for the Fore Management team and we, as always, will use our expertise to ensure all of these upcoming events run smoothly.

ISGT – International Schools' Golf Tour, Thailand

With an aim to foster and nurture the next generation of golfers in Thailand, the International Schools' Golf Tour (ISGT) Thailand puts the spotlight on young talents from all over the country. The ISGT provides an opportunity to test their skills amongst their peers domestically and internationally as well as gain valuable tournament experience.

Winners at each ISGT Thailand event will win a free chance to compete in the Faldo Series Thailand, part of Sir Nick Faldo’s celebrated amateur series for upcoming talents aged between 12 and 21. The Faldo Series Thailand will take place over 3 events on select courses around Thailand with winners in U16, U18 and U21 (boys) and U16 and U21 (girls) qualifying for the Faldo Series Asia Grand Final in Vietnam. Participants within all ISGT and Faldo Series Thailand events will also earn Junior ranking points in America, with those progressing to the final competing for WAGR (World Amateur Golf Rankings) points.

The Faldo Series - Thailand

All three Thailand events are now confirmed for WAGR points with The R&A and we now have the venues confirmed. Upon confirmation of this, Faldo himself said: “It is great to see the Faldo Series Asia back up and running after the difficulties the world has faced this year.  As a proud Old Wellingtonian, it a great to see the support of the College to provide opportunities for juniors to compete in WAGR tournaments in Thailand.  As always with Wellington, providing a competitive environment for juniors to experience and further themselves is a great learning curve for their future successes.  I look forward to meeting the winners and current Wellingtonians at next years Asia Grand Final in Vietnam.”

With new technology now available to make such events run much more smoothly and reduce administration, it means that all event participants can concentrate on what they do best. The Faldo series application will allow for inputting competition entries and manage the fields, produce a draw, and then run live scoring.  Therefore, this will not require paper scorecards, rather to do in within the App and also save cross-contamination of passing cards back and forth in these Covid-19 times.  The scores will cross-check themselves and ensure any errors are cross-checked before final sign off, which is also done via the App.  Utilizing the App will also allow for live leader boards to be displayed for all players and visitors to see throughout the host venue.  This has added a whole new dimension to the quality of player experience.

The ISGT Thailand and Faldo Series Thailand recognise the huge potential among junior golfers in Thailand and wider Asia and create the perfect pathway onto the biggest international junior stage.
